  1. LyX for all my math work

I can’t believe I’ve been silly enough to individually punch subscript and superscripts for every square and i when doing math work on MS WORD 2007.

I came to know about Latex from a math blog I follow. Google search for Latex editors mostly lead to old style sheet devoid pages talking about n different components to get before installing a latex editor.

Running the Google search with the keyword “Open Source” lead me to Lyx.

LyX is a document processor that encourages an approach to writing based on the structure of your documents, and not simply their appearance . LyX is released under a Free Software / Open Source license, runs on Linux/Unix, Windows, and Mac OS X, and is available in several languages.

Ghostscript, Image Magik and MikeTex are all downloaded during the setup. So neat! :) Love it when everything comes pre-packaged.
